My sister Linda and I loved to listen to Dad read to us. In this photo, taken in about 1953, Dad is reading from “A Treasury of the Familiar”, edited by Ralph L. Woods, a compilation of prose, poetry, quotes, and other items of interest. Dad liked long narrative poems with good rhythm and rhyme, fostering my interest in them, too.
